November, 2015 Client News
November 3, 2015 – Ford Warriors in Pink is teaming up with Susan G. Komen San Diego (Komen San Diego) for a Drive 4 UR Community fundraising event on Saturday, November 14, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Individuals are welcome to visit a participating San Diego County Ford dealer. With each completed test-drive, Susan G. Komen San Diego will receive a $20 donation. Proceeds from the event will go toward Komen San Diego, the County’s largest funder of free breast cancer services and support, and is the only organization providing qualified women the free services they need for every step of the breast cancer journey.

“Due to our longstanding commitment to the cause, Warriors in Pink seeks out ways to spread awareness and raise funds to help fight breast cancer,” said Tracy Magee, Ford Warriors in Pink brand manager. “Leveraging our successful test-drive program, Drive 4 UR Community, and the commitment of the participating San Diego County dealers is a great opportunity to support the important work of Susan G. Komen San Diego.”

Ford Motor Company has been in the fight against breast cancer for many years. In fact, 2015 marks Ford’s 21st year in the fight against breast cancer with more $128 million dedicated to the cause. Through the Drive 4 UR Community program launched in 2012, Ford has donated more than $3.7M to local charities and community groups nationwide.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for those who were unable to participate in Race for the Cure,” said Laura Farmer Sherman, president & CEO, Susan G. Komen San Diego. “Ford Warriors in Pink has been a huge supporter in the fight against breast cancer, and we are excited to join forces and make an impact as a united front. With the San Diego County Ford dealers and the community’s help, we can help raise critical funds to help women battling breast cancer in San Diego and drive forward towards a cure.”

Komen San Diego services include free diagnostic mammograms, life-saving screenings, diagnostics, temporary financial aid for living expenses, meal deliveries, education, and more. With every donation collected from this fundraiser, Komen San Diego can continue to fund free breast cancer services to men and women dealing with breast cancer in San Diego County.
