Overview
San Diego Oasis promotes a healthy and meaningful life for adults over 50. Through its many vibrant class offerings and services for older adults, the nonprofit’s approach includes lifelong learning, health and wellness, and community impact through intergenerational programs.
Challenge
San Diego Oasis has been part of the San Diego community for 40 years but was still a well-kept secret. It was necessary for the organization and its leadership to be poised as a thought leader. With 10,000 adults turning 60 every day in America, and an estimated 20 percent of its population being seniors by 2030, it was significantly important to increase awareness of the many programs that San Diego Oasis offers to accommodate this growing population. We needed to create media outreach campaigns for both older adults and young families with loved ones reaching senior age.
Results
Our communications agency positioned San Diego Oasis as the “prescription” to combat isolation for older adults. The nonprofit is featured in many news stories, highlighting various classes and sharing human interest stories of their members and volunteers. Through our consistent outreach efforts, the media knows San Diego Oasis can provide knowledge on senior-related topics, current events, and discussions.
