SAN DIEGO – May 10, 2009 – ElderHelp (www.elderhelpofsandiego.org) announces the official launch of the Concierge Club, a unique, affordable option for seniors providing in-home care and enabling them to remain independent in their own homes.
“With the large amount of baby boomers entering into their golden years, it is even more important that we take our seniors’ needs into account,” explains Leane Marchese, executive director, ElderHelp. “The Concierge Club provides an affordable option to help everyday life be a bit more manageable and enjoyable for seniors.”
Medical and living costs seem to rise every day – to simply get an escorted ride to the doctor or to have someone help around the house can cost as much as $45 per hour through private, independent services. ElderHelp’s Concierge Club is targeted to seniors whose annual income is less than $55,000 and membership costs are based on a sliding scale. Packages range from $55 to $285 per month depending on services rendered. The Concierge Club hourly breakdown is half the cost than other private options. For those who qualify, services are either subsidized or complimentary.
Furthering ElderHelp’s mission of helping seniors remain independent in their own homes, the Concierge Club offers such services as personal care coordination, friendly visiting and companionship, grocery shopping, escorted transportation, respite, minor home repairs, gardening, mail sorting and organization, light housekeeping and so much more. Moreover, membership includes connections to trusted, pre-screened partners and providers, friendly visitors and transportation services. Those who need the extra help organizing these services will have a personal member care manager who will organize every aspect of their experience.
The Concierge Club is perfect for children of aging parents who have to choose between taking the kids to soccer practice or getting their parent to a doctor appointment. With one call, an ElderHelp member care manager can make the necessary arrangements. The Concierge Club connects caring volunteers and staff with seniors to help them stay where they want to be most – independent, and in their own homes.
