VISTA, CA – Oct. 24, 2016 – On the Moonlight Amphitheatre stage on Thursday, Oct. 20, 2016, Moonlight Cultural Foundation received a $45,671 donation from Forte for Children, a nonprofit organization based in Vista that supports disadvantaged children in the community with an emphasis on music education and therapy. A Forte for Children representative presented the check to Toria Watson, CEO, Moonlight Cultural Foundation after a recent Moonlight Youth Theatre performance of “Thoroughly Modern Millie.”
“Through the generous financial support from Forte for Children, we are able to offer San Diego County youth the opportunity to gain valuable experience and skills through meaningful, impactful hands-on experiences in a professional, and nurturing environment,” said Toria Watson, CEO, Moonlight Cultural Foundation.
“We do this because it is our privilege and responsibility to give back or as my wife Megan always says to ‘learn, earn, and return,’” said Jim Minarik, board chairman, DEI’s Forte for Children.
The donation will support Moonlight Cultural Foundation’s arts programs, including Moonlight Stage Productions and Moonlight Youth Theatre. Forte for Children, a Sound United & Directed Charitable Foundation, is a longtime supporter of the Moonlight, arts education and the well-being of underprivileged children. In 2013, the organization began implementing a strong focus on music education and music therapy programs. The organization is passionate for music and believe it holds a strong tie to academic achievement. Forte for Children strives to expose children to the arts to provide a gateway to success for future generations.
