Susan G. Komen San Diego’s annual dinner has a new name, location, and theme.
This year, event organizers set out to prove that the nonprofit organization is “More Than Pink,” and affecting real change for breast cancer survivors who live in our region.
Pink is more than a color. It represents the impact that each person is making in the fight against the most frequently diagnosed cancer worldwide. Debuting this year is an interactive cocktail reception featuring experiential art displays, a pink pop-up shop, and a presentation by leading breast cancer expert, Dr. Siavash Jabbari, radiation oncology director at the Laurel Amtower Neuro-Oncology Program & Cancer Institute and his patient, 2018 Honorary Breast Cancer Survivor, Lilian Vanvieldt-Gray. The duo will walk guests through a breast cancer journey, giving attendees the unique tandem perspective of both patient and physician.
