VISTA, CA – June 12, 2015 – Moonlight Cultural Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit announces the name change of their current youth theatre program from Encore Youth Theatre to Moonlight Youth Theatre. The name change reflects the partnership with Moonlight Cultural Foundation, which has supported and operated the program since 2004.
Moonlight Cultural Foundation funds the program as part of their commitment to providing education in theatre arts that fosters confidence, creativity and leadership skills. Each year, the Moonlight Youth Theatre helps hundreds of aspiring young actors pursue their dreams by performing in stage productions and attending theatrical workshops.
“Nurturing the love of theatre arts from a young age is a passion of Moonlight Cultural Foundation,” says Toria Watson, executive director, Moonlight Cultural Foundation. “Moonlight Youth Theatre helps students develop vital teamwork skills and promotes enriching artistic experiences for both participants and their families. We are grateful for the community’s continued engagement and support of the program.”
Moonlight Youth Theatre produces shows at both Moonlight Amphitheatre and AVO Playhouse. Currently, more than 100 youth are enrolled in the program and come from all over San Diego County to participate in Moonlight Youth Theatre’s programs including: instructional master classes, workshops and other special performance groups such as the annual traveling Holiday Show Choir.
Moonlight Youth Theatre members will perform with Grammy-award winner John Legend at Copley Symphony Hall on Friday, June 12 as part of a special charity event for the 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Forte for Children. The organization based in Vista, Calif. is a supporter of Moonlight Cultural Foundation and the Moonlight Youth Theatre program.
