VISTA, CA – Sept. 9, 2015 – Moonlight Cultural Foundation presents a unique concert featuring the rising star Megan Hilty in, “Megan Hilty Under the Stars,” on Friday, Oct. 2, 2015. With powerhouse vocals and an affable rapport with both her band and the audience, Hilty exudes the essence of good cabaret. Her impressive accomplishments have made her one of the fastest rising talents in the entertainment world.
Hilty will also be joined on stage by Celeste Butler, a student from Moonlight Youth Theatre, during the benefit concert. She also performed with Moonlight Youth Theatre members and Grammy-award winner John Legend as part of a special charity event for the 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Forte for Children. Butler is a resident of Oceanside, and is now a freshman at University of Southern California, where she is pursuing her acting and singing studies.

Proceeds from the Megan Hilty concert benefit the Moonlight Cultural Foundation, to raise funds for arts education programs for youth and adults, to foster engagement of new audiences and increase student/educator participation in the artistic process. Moonlight Youth Theatre is supported by the foundation, and is committed to providing education in theatre arts that fosters confidence, creativity and leadership skills. Each year, the Moonlight Youth Theatre helps hundreds of aspiring young actors pursue their dreams by performing in stage productions and attending theatrical workshops.

Hilty rose to prominence for her roles in several Broadway musicals, including her performance as Glinda in “Wicked” and her portrayal of Doralee Rhodes in “9 to 5: The Musical.” Her best known role was as Ivy Lynn on the musical-drama TV series “Smash,” on which she sang many original songs, including the Grammy Award-nominated “Let Me Be Your Star.”
